The Office of the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly tomorrow (Friday, 21 July 2016) will become the proud custodian of a vast collection of Pacific and political literature kindly donated by Professor Richard Herr of the University of Tasmania (Australia). Professor Herr is a Lecturer at the University of Tasmania’s School of Law and has had a long standing friendly relationship with the Office of the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly and the Samoan Parliament. The ‘Pacific Collection’ is the culmination of the many years Professor Herr has spent amassing pacific literature works and other books on politics collected during the years he has spent working throughout the Pacific and abroad. He is currently in Samoa facilitating the Parliamentary Law Practice and Procedure Course of which selected staff of the Office of the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly are undertaking.
The official handover of the library books will be at 11:00am at the temporary Parliamentary precincts at Tuanaimato.
